Project: Picturing Mississippi, 1817-2017: Land of Plenty, Pain, and Promise
Client: Mississippi Museum of Art
The Mississippi Museum of Art, Jackson, presented the exhibition Picturing Mississippi, 1817-2017 in honor of the state's bicentennial. The accompanying 176-page, 10 x 11-in publication features six essays and more than 150 reproductions of artwork from the exhibition. Two dustjacket/endpaper combinations were employed in the design, giving buyers the option of a traditional or contemporary cover. A clean overall design approach allows the fine art to shine, while bold colors are used sparingly in folios and section dividers to orient readers and inject energy throughout.
